Donut wall lamp has emerged due to intensive research on materials with sound-absorbing properties and invisible indirect light sources. The sconce is made from a light and thin ecoPET panel with a thickness of 5 mm, which is cut using an innovative laser technique. The cutting motif of concentric circles turns the material from recycled PET bottles into a three-dimensional sculptural object that takes on form and volume only upon wall installation. The interplay with LED light underlines the atmospheric and ambient effect of the Donut sconce because the emitted light is 360 degrees. In addition to this appealing effect, the project realizes an ecologically responsible approach, which is already evident in using sustainably manufactured ecoPET panels and LED as the light source.
